About Jo
|
Wareham has a rich historical heritage, from its beginning in 1678 as an agricultural settlement to its position today as a nice residential town. Although north of the Cape Cod Canal, it is generally thought of as Cape Cod and has the same flavor as communities actually on the Cape.
With over 54 miles of coastline and public access beaches, Wareham is very much oriented to the sea. Shellfishing and cranberry growing are major industries. During the summer vacationers take advantage of the many kinds of boating and fishing available.
Wareham has a variety of housing options, with charming spacious older homes, new construction, newer condominiums and mobile home parks. The schools are excellent and medical services are readily available with our town's own Tobey Hospital. Wareham has thriving shopping and dining districts. The Tremont Nail Factory has existed since 1822 and is one of the major historical sites. This holds the distinction of owning one of the oldest operating industrial buildings in America. Wareham blends a nice mixture of peaceful living, culture and recreation.
A truly nice place to live. For more go to:
